A new Government briefing has been released ahead of this Mondays parliamentary debate on non-stun slaughter, incl: statements from some supermarkets.

As a result of the ePetition run jointly by the RSPCA, British Veterinary Association, Humane Slaughter Association, Farm Animal Welfare Council, and the Federation of Veterinarians of Europe, this Monday 23rd February 2015 a full debate will take place in Parliament to discuss the petition and its requests.

The debate will take place at 4.30pm and will be televised live on Parliament TV.

In advance of the debate a new briefing has been prepared and published for the participants by the Science and Environment Section of the House Of Commons Library.

It makes interesting reading and contains statements from some of the UK's largest Supermarkets on their policy on, and rational behind, selling Halal.
