It has been confirmed that leading UK Christmas Party organiser, Vivid Experience Ltd, who are based in Lutterworth - Leicestershire, served Halal Chicken to their guests during themed Christmas dinners at events run by Vivid held at two of the East Midlands leading venues in November / December 2014 without their guests knowledge or permission regardless of faith or religion.
The events, 'Zulu Sundance - The Magic Of Africa' held at The Roundhouse in Derby and 'Manhattan - Parties From New York' held at The Athena in Leicester, covered some 20 plus nights at each venue and were a mix of Private Hires and General Public parties.
Vivid proudly boasts on their website that this year during the Christmas events at The Athena alone they fed 12,000 guests and presumably the same goes for The Roundhouse.
Our source also tells us that the events are organised in conjunction with the two venues and that it is widely known among key management, catering and waiting staff that Halal is surreptitiously being served using clandestine methods.
It is known that Vivid hosted exclusive Christmas events at Athena in 2014 for British Gas and Loughborough University as well as several high profile award events where the guests all unknowingly tucked into Halal Chicken. Also members of Leicestershire Police, Staff from the NHS and various big names from the UK high street were all similarly deceived.
Vivid also organised Christmas Parties at the prestigious NEC venue in Birmingham under the Umbrella name of Christmas Party World but it is unclear at this time whether Halal Chicken was served here with or without the guests knowledge.
Nowhere within Vivid's literature, websites or brochures is Halal even mentioned and anyone eating Chicken at these events would have unknowingly consumed Halal Chicken.
To understand why this is so shocking one should examine the context.
These events were Christmas Parties where paying guests came together with friends and colleagues were celebrating their Christmas meal. An examination of the respective websites show that these meals were fairly expensive.
Christmas IS a Christian celebration despite the ugly commercialism that surrounds it and Halal meat IS an Islamic practice.
By any measure, and especially given the tragic events around the world involving Islamic terrorists, deceitfully serving Halal meat at one of the most holy and joyful times could rightly be called disrespectful to non-muslims and Christians alike. It can also be called cynically and religiously offensive and with out any sensitivity to those who have been victims of Islamic terrorism the world over, let alone in the UK.
The fact that Halal meat products are being sold to the unaware and unsuspecting public is outrageous enough but this happened at a deeply religious time to Christians many of whom would have been among those who unknowingly consumed the Halal Chicken.
