In an ideal world we would all be vegan and animals would be free from slaughter but we all know that sadly this is never going to happen.

Humans are carnivors and will always farm and slaughter animals but...

There is absolutly no reason or excuse for not giving animals the best possible quality of life before slaughter and the most painless and distress free death during slaughter.

Mail On Sunday Undercover Investigation

The following images are taken from a undercover video secretly filmed by Mail on Sunday investigators at Simply Halal's slaughterhouse in Norfolk.

This means that all of the Cattle (Beef) & Sheep (Lamb) that they slaughter are fully conscious, completely aware of what is happening and feel unimaginable pain & distress as the images below show.

The Mail on Sunday investigators reported that the sheep were dragged from their pen and put on an escalator belt that also restrained their legs.

Then the abattoir’s Muslim slaughterman cut each animal’s throat as he chanted ‘Allahu Akbar [God is great]’. In the seconds after the sudden cut, the sheep strained to raise their heads as blood poured from their wounds.

They then twitched and convulsed as they were hoisted by their hind legs on metal hooks to drain their bodies of blood.

As the automated hook line took the sheep to another room, they were beheaded by another slaughterman, and fleeced and skinned by other workers.

Daily Mail Undercover Investigation
At Mr Meats Abattoir, Birmingham

The Daily Mail went undercover at Mr Meats abattoir, which is within walking distance of Birmingham’s branch of Harvey Nichols, where around 1,000 animals a night, mostly sheep and goats, but occasionally cattle, are all slaughtered without any form of stunning.

Grabbing one lamb at a time, the muslim slaughterman pulls back its head and slits the throat with a swift movement from his razor-sharp knife. Though the deep incision to the neck cuts through the animal’s windpipe and main arteries, the creatures are still able to cry out.

They make pitiful bleating and gurgling sounds as they choke on their own blood. It’s a chilling sound that, once heard, stays with you and then there’s the fact that the animals can witness each other being killed as they travel along the conveyor belt. Accordingto the strict rules of Halal slaughter animals are not allowed to witness the slaughter of another.

There can no doubt what so ever that they understand what is happening and their hooves twitch wildly as they try to break free.

One lamb cries out for more than 20 seconds before it flops off the end of the conveyor belt and on to a rotating table. From there, it is shackled by its hind legs and hauled up to the ceiling on a hook, where it is left with a dozen others to ‘bleed out’.

Their films revealed animals being kicked, slapped, stamped on, and picked up by fleeces and ears and thrown into stunning pens.

They recorded animals being improperly stunned and going to the knife while still conscious. They filmed animals deliberately and illegally beaten and pigs burned with cigarettes.
